Hooked on Lace

This is another piece that I crocheted using a French crochet manual that I found on Gallica, the virtual French national library! It was so pretty that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make it myself! I'm thinking of making another piece and making it into a pouch.

I made this with 100% cotton lace weight yarn, as that was what the book said was preferable for lace. I haven't made anything as intricate as this before, so it was definitely rewarding to say the least. I used a 2.5mm hook, which was challenging to work with. However, since I used a high-quality cotton yarn, it made my life SO much easier.

Used the lace creating techniques from this book to make this piece.
