CROCHET PROJECTS

Share Your Spare Singapore

I was looking for a project to do, when I came across Share Your Spare Singapore. I was moving houses, and I had a lot of yarn to work with, so I thought I could donate something to a good cause as I had to use this yarn. Their main goal is to bring happiness to less fortunate kids in the Philippines and hopefully in other countries in the near future through toy libraries, toy gift giving, feeding program and other projects.

Here is a way to get into contact with them: Facebook

But I messaged back and forth with them on Facebook to see if they would take something like crochet, and to my surprise, they did! So in total, I made around 25 bunnies using this tutorial on YouTube.

It was honestly a challenge to crochet that many bunnies, and I commend those who sell crochet items because my wrists hurt just making this amount... But it is very rewarding and relaxing to just do this mindlessly while watching my shows or listening to my audiobooks.

All of them looked as if they had their own personalities, and they did! Different eye placement makes all the difference, or even how you sew on the ears was a learning curve too. I think that all this sewing and assembling the crochet parts even made my handwriting better or made my fencing handwork sharper because of how precise I needed to be... It was cool!

Ultimately, I donated these bunnies to the founder of the organization, Adrian (the man in the photo next to me). He sent them back to the Philippines to the communities who needed them!
